Through historical objects and contemporary works made in response to the Shakers, the exhibition explores the surprising and long-lasting art and design legacy of this American religious community.

This exhibition was organized by the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Vitra Design Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art Philadelphia, and the Wüstenrot Foundation, in collaboration with Shaker Museum, Chatham, New York.
