When the sun goes down, the Milwaukee Art Museum transforms into the city’s most artful night out. MAM After Dark is a high-energy, after-hours series where galleries come alive with live music, immersive performances, unexpected moments, and creative experiences designed to be explored, shared, and celebrated.

Each event features a distinct theme that reimagines the Museum through sound, movement, style, and art—inviting guests to dance, discover, and see the Museum in a whole new light. From dance floors driven by live music to pop-up performances and hands-on activations, MAM After Dark blends culture and nightlife in a way that feels playful, expressive, and uniquely Milwaukee.

Frequently asked questions

MAM After Dark is designed for guests who are 18 and older, but all ages are welcome. Kids 12 and under always receive free admission, thanks to an anonymous donor. Member kids under 18 also receive free admission. Please bring a valid photo ID if you plan to consume alcoholic beverages at the event.

Tickets include all special programming, plus entrance to the galleries from 7 to 10:30 p.m.

The Museum Café is open until 10 p.m. and the cash bar is open until 10:30 p.m. The bar serves beer and wine, plus a signature cocktail and mocktail. Please bring a valid photo ID if you plan to consume alcoholic beverages at the event.

Members enjoy access to a private lounge with a bar serving a special signature cocktail and mocktail only for Members.

Get to the Museum by bike, bus, or car. The Reiman Bridge, a pedestrian suspension bridge, connects the Museum campus to downtown Milwaukee. The nearest bus stop is located at the intersection of Prospect Ave and Mason Street. Bike racks are available on the Museum grounds. The Oak Leaf bike trail passes right alongside the Museum.

Parking is available in the Calatrava underground garage and in Museum Center Park. Free street parking spaces near the Museum are limited.

Museum guidelines

  • Don't touch the art

  • Food and drink cannot enter the galleries

  • Store large items and water bottles in a locker

  • Take photos without flash, stabilizers, or tripods
