Café Calatrava

Open 11 a.m.–4 p.m. daily

Whether for a quick bite or a full meal, Café Calatrava is the place to dine along Lake Michigan, with views that take your breath away and a fresh and regularly updated menu of contemporary cuisine created by Sous Chef Jamie Nelson. Daily specials are always intriguing and reflect originality and seasonal ingredients.

Bearing the namesake of the world-renowned architect of the Quadracci Pavilion, the café reflects Santiago Calatrava’s creativity, quality, and design in everything from the presentation to its delectable cuisine. The café dining room faces lakeside, with floor to ceiling windows offering spectacular views. An ever-changing menu of contemporary cuisine, including kid-friendly selections, offers a variety of options to satisfy every guest. The café is also equipped to serve buffets and box lunches for tour groups as well as full-service catering for on-site dinner parties and events. In the spring and summer, the café extends service to its lakefront terrace for dining al fresco.

Windhover Coffee–featuring Stone Creek Coffee

Open at 10 a.m.–closes one-half hour before the Museum, 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays

Recharge at Windhover Coffee, located in the southeast corner of Windhover Hall, overlooking Lake Michigan. Our friendly baristas serve locally roasted coffee from our full espresso bar, beverages, snacks, and fresh pastries from independent local bakeries. Windhover Coffee offers sandwiches and salads, made to order.

East End

Open at 11 a.m.–closes one-half hour before the Museum

Discover a lakeside oasis. Hydrate, charge up, chill out, explore, and more at the Museum’s East End. Find kids’ fare, grab-and-go, and picnic lunch options. Socialize over a smoothie, iced coffee, wine, or beer. Sit in or out, at a table, or on the lawn. Drop by and refresh, meet up with friends, pop in and see the art. Museum admission is not required to enter, eat, or shop the East End.

The Museum and Café Calatrava caters events of all sizes and styles, from intimate dinner parties to elaborate weddings, using spectacular Museum spaces such as the cathedral-like Windhover Hall. Choose from our enticing catering menu or let our Chef de Cuisine create a special menu for your event. A list of preferred caterers is available upon request. Events in the Museum Café, Northwestern Mutual Room, and Quadracci Suite are required to use catering by Café Calatrava.
