Grand Unveiling: The American LOVE Sculpture

Thursday, September 5, 2019, 5:30 PM–8 PM

Don’t miss this celebration of Robert Indiana’s The American LOVE (1966-99) sculpture, beginning in Lubar Auditorium, where Joe Martin Lin-Hill, deputy director of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, will discuss Robert Indiana (1928-2018) and his career at 5:30 p.m. Then see the unveiling of the installed sculpture on the East End at 6:45 p.m.

Stay after for even more LOVE-inspired activities:

  • Snap a photo with loved ones in front of the sculpture.
  • Grab a drink from the cash bar.
  • Enjoy music spun by local DJs.
  • Engage with some of the Museum's community partners.
  • Help us spread the LOVE by coloring a postcard! Pass along a positive message to family and friends, or add your postcard to our donation box to be sent to Active Duty Military.

The American LOVE, which was previously on display during Sculpture Milwaukee 2018, was donated to the Museum’s collection thanks to the support of an anonymous donor through the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.
