President’s Circle Preview Celebration: “Gertrude Abercrombie: The Whole World Is a Mystery”

The Trustees of the Milwaukee Art Museum and Dr. Kim Sajet, Donna and Donald Baumgartner Director invite you to celebrate the beautiful, strange, and deeply personal world of Gertrude Abercrombie: The Whole World Is a Mystery, in the first nationally touring retrospective of Abercrombie’s enigmatic paintings. Enjoy a special introduction to the exhibition led by Thomas Busciglio-Ritter, Abert Family Associate Curator of American Art, Milwaukee Art Museum, and Sarah Humphreville, Lunder Curator of American Art, Colby College Museum of Art. The evening continues with a lively, jazz-age salon reminiscent of the soirées hosted by Gertrude Abercrombie herself, the “Queen of Chicago.”
