About the performer

Nathalie Joachim is a Grammy-nominated Haitian-American performer and composer, praised as “a fresh and invigorating cross-cultural voice” (The Nation). Her work centers storytelling, human connection, and social advocacy. In 2025–26, she appears at Opera Philadelphia as composer-in-residence, presents her upcoming opera Le présent éternel at the Museum of Modern Art, and joins the New York Philharmonic for its Sound On series. Other engagements include Carnegie Hall, Juilliard, Princeton Sound Kitchen, and performances with DeCoda. Joachim’s landmark project Fanm d’Ayiti received a Grammy nomination, and her 2024 album Ki moun ou ye was released by Nonesuch and New Amsterdam Records. She is Assistant Professor of Composition at Princeton University.
