Meet notable local figures from the queer and HIV/AIDS activism communities in the Herzfeld Center for Photography and Media Arts as they share their viewpoints on works in the exhibition Darrel Ellis: Regeneration.

This drop-in experience is included with Museum admission and is free for Members. Come prepared for your visit by reserving tickets at the door or online.

 

Thomas KellyThomas H. Kelly IV is a personal development coach and facilitator. Kelly currently facilitates group therapy sessions with Black Space HQ, helping clients self-reflect on their mental wellness. His extensive work in career coaching, organizational development, and community service has made a significant impact on companies such as AT&T, M&I Data Services, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, and most recently Ross Innovative Employment Solutions. Kelly has extended his more than 30 years of expertise to several state and privately funded programs such as INROADS, the Inner-City Arts Council, Boys & Girls Club, Boy Scouts of America, America’s Black Holocaust Museum, the Milwaukee LGBTQ Center of Milwaukee, Diversity & Resilient, Work Force Development and the United Way. He was educated at John Marshall High School and Marquette University.

 
Margaret LidstoneMargaret Lidstone is a global AIDS advocate currently serving as Chief Development Officer at Vivent Health. She is responsible for Vivent Health’s nationwide fundraising and philanthropic partnerships. Margaret was previously with IAVI, an internationally renowned scientific research organization dedicated to addressing urgent, unmet global health challenges, including HIV. She served as the Vice President of Global Affairs for IAVI, leading their fundraising, communications, and advocacy efforts. Her time with IAVI was a continuation of her two-decade-long career in global health and development that included leadership positions in the US government’s global AIDS response through the PEPFAR bilateral program and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria. Lidstone graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a bachelor’s degree and received her juris doctorate from the University of Michigan.

 
Shantell RileyShantell Riley is a registered nurse, end-of-life doula, certified grief counselor, reiki practitioner, and registered yoga teacher. She is a facilitator with Death Café MKE, a local community support group that holds space for people to have death-related conversations. She is a strong believer in allowing individuals to have their own human experience. Shantell is the owner of Dignity with Departure and Blue Lotus Life. She is also the founder of Redefining Life Services, Inc., the organization that newly created Redefining Life Center for Grief and Healing. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Shantell is a mother to three sons (one deceased) and a grandmother to one grandson.
