Gallery Talk: “Currents 40: Widline Cadet”

June 26, 2026
12:00 pm–1:00 pm
Free for Members

Join Kristen Gaylord, the Herzfeld Curator of Photography and Media Arts and curator of the exhibition, for an in-depth exploration of the themes and ideas presented in Currents 40: Widline Cadet. This exhibition marks Cadet’s first solo show in the United States and features the first full presentation of her ambitious series Seremoni Disparisyon (Ritual [Dis]Appearance). In this body of work, Cadet draws from her own experience of emigrating from Haiti to the U.S. to explore themes of Black diasporic life, memory, and survival.

This drop-in experience is included with Museum admission and is free for Members. Admission tickets are available at the door or online. The Milwaukee Art Museum is grateful to its exhibition sponsors.
