Procrastinate ‘til 8! Milwaukee Art Museum Hosts COLLEGE Art After 5

Milwaukee, WI, February 22, 2008-The Milwaukee Art Museum will host the inaugural college edition of Art After Five on Thursday, April 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. Conceived by college students for the slender wallets, ravenous appetites, and intellectual curiosity of Milwaukee’s student body, this event offers students an inspiring break from their studies amidst the acclaimed architecture, renowned art, and engaging atmosphere of the Museum.

This college edition of Art After Five also offers the exclusive opportunity for student photographers to submit their work in conjunction with the Museum’s feature exhibition, Foto: Modernity in Central Europe, 1918-1945. The selected images will be displayed in the Museum’s breathtaking Calatrava-designed Windhover Hall, and three photographers selected by Lisa Hostetler, associate curator of photographs, will receive a special gift. For details, rules, and submission guidelines, click on Lectures + Events at mam.org/foto.

The budget-friendly evening will include dinero-free delectables courtesy of Whole Foods; slammin’ jams provided by 88.9 Radio Milwaukee; free creation studios with your favorite nostalgic pastime, Lite-Brite; a refreshing cash bar; and guided tours given for students, by students. Visitors inspired by Foto: Modernity in Central Europe, 1918-1945 can take a quick snapshot in our “Foto” booth for a keepsake of the night. Lucky guests will also take home door prizes donated by the Milwaukee Admirals, Oriental Theatre, The Cheesecake Factory, Milwaukee Public Museum, Beans & Barley, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Sobelmans, and more.  The party in Windhover Hall is free! General admission to the galleries is just $4 for students.
