Milwaukee Art Museum’s Lakefront Festival of Arts Named in Top 10 By Art Fair Source Book

Milwaukee, WI, March 17, 2005— The Milwaukee Art Museum’s yearly Lakefront Festival of Arts was named number three in the nation for 2005 by the Art Fair Source Book and was featured in the April issue of Midwest Living magazine. This year’s Lakefront Festival of Arts is June 17 – 19, on the Art Museum’s front drive. Other fairs in the top 10 include the Old Town Art Fair in Chicago, Illinois and the Uptown Art Fair in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Seven of the top 10 in the 2005 rankings are located in the Midwest. The Source Book ranks 600 fairs in the United States.

Annually sponsored by Friends of Art, a Milwaukee Art Museum support group, Lakefront Festival of Arts benefits the Museum’s Art Acquisition and Exhibition Fund. Considered one of the nation’s premier art festivals, the Lakefront Festival of Arts features the jury-selected work of 160 talented artists. The Festival incorporates unique works of art representing a variety of media, demonstrations by top artists, tempting culinary treats and renowned musicians.
