Through Currents, its exhibition series of contemporary art, the Museum presents the work of German artist Dirk Skreber. The artist is best known for works that portray catastrophic events, from floods to cars wrapped around poles. Currents 36 features several of Skreber’s large-scale paintings and one monumental sculpture, and is the American museum debut of Skreber’s first video work, Turgidity (2012).
