Milwaukee Art Museum Wins Prestigious Governor’s Tourism Award

MILWAUKEE, WI—March 14, 2025—The Milwaukee Art Museum is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the 2025 Governor’s Tourism Award for Arts, Culture, & Heritage.   • Illuminated the Milwaukee Skyline: The Museum’s iconic wings now light up, allowing MAM to participate in city-wide celebrations and transform the skyline with breathtaking displays of color and light.

  • Revival of Iconic Events: The return of beloved events like MAM After Dark and Yoga at the Museum has reignited community excitement and engagement.

  • Launch of the MAM App: Now offering translations in 40+ languages, the new app unlocks innovative opportunities for storytelling and interactive engagement with the collection.
  • Strengthening Signature Events: Visitors will enjoy an expanded footprint of popular events like Art in Bloom, with more floral arrangements and new after-hours programming, making this cultural staple bigger and better than ever.   • Introduced Thursday Nights at MAM: Implemented a groundbreaking pay-what-you-wish event series to foster greater accessibility and offer another layer of excitement to the Museum’s offerings.

  • Modernized Wayfinding & Digital Integration: Cutting-edge digital signage and navigation tools simplify and enhance the visitor journey.
  • Record-Breaking Digital Engagement: The Museum has achieved unprecedented social media, digital content, and design engagement levels.
  • AI Innovation & Technology Integration: The launch of the Museum’s AI BOT and its seamless technology enhancements mark a new era of visitor interaction.
