Second Annual Milwaukee Artist Marketplace

Milwaukee, WI, July 19, 2006— The Milwaukee Art Museum is collaborating with a coalition of fifteen Milwaukee-based artist organizations for the Second Annual Milwaukee Artist Marketplace in conjunction with Gallery Night and Day. More than sixty emerging and established Milwaukee artists will display and sell their creative work on the grounds of the Museum in a relaxed and informal setting. The event will be held rain or shine. Participating Arts Organizations

The Milwaukee Artist Marketplace is a collaboration of the following organizations: A. C. Art Association, African-American Artists Beginning to Educate Americans About African-American Art, Artists Enhancement Program (Goodwill), Bay View Arts Guild, Hmong Women’s Professional Circle, League of Milwaukee Artists, Milwaukee Area Teachers of Art, Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Artist Resource Network, Riverwest Artists Association, Walker’s Point Center for the Arts, Wisconsin Designer Craft Council, and Wisconsin Painters & Sculptors.

Gallery Night and Day – Art Behind the Scenes

Stop by the Milwaukee Art Museum on Gallery Night and Day, July 28 and 29, to view an exhibition of artwork by Museum employees. For the fourth year in a row, members of the Museum staff will showcase their creative talents in the Quadracci Pavilion-through August 3. The categories represented include painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, mixed media, film, and jewelry. In addition to the special staff exhibition, see Masters of American Comics -which leaves for New York August 13-at no charge, Gallery Night only. Admission to the Museum on Gallery Night is free.
