Film Series: American Epics on the Silver Screen: A Streetcar Named Desire

Kick off your Friday evenings in July with a series of not-to-be-missed classic films that are featured in the exhibition American Epics: Thomas Hart Benton and Hollywood and that inspired the painter's artistic vision, including his Hollywood commissions. All films will be screened in Lubar Auditorium and include a brief introduction by Museum staff.

A Streetcar Named Desire (1951)
In the French Quarter of New Orleans, in the years following World War II, Blanche DuBois (Vivien Leigh) moves in with her pregnant sister and is tormented by her brutish brother-in-law (Marlon Brando), as her reality crumbles around her.
