Member Parking Benefits FAQ

Museum Members can now use their newly re-issued membership cards to receive discounts in both the Museum’s Calatrava garage (under the Museum) and at Museum Center Park (at O’Donnell Park across Lincoln Memorial Drive). A membership card is required to receive the discount in the garages. Certain giving levels also allow Members to park for free on a set number of visits.

*Discount goes into effect after Members have used all free parking passes loaded on their cards.

Q: How do I use my Member discount or free parking during my visit?

A: In order to receive your Member discount or free parking, you must scan the QR code on the back side of your newly re-issued Member card when exiting. You must have your card with you, and your membership must be current.

Q: I’m not sure if I’ve received a newly re-issued card. What do they look like?

A: The newly re-issued cards include a QR code on the back and colored blocks on the front. Colors vary depending on your membership level. Here are some examples:

Q: Can I use my old membership card to get the parking discount?

A: No. The new parking equipment is not compatible with our old membership cards. The new cards have a QR code on the back side, which is what you will scan at the garage exit. Please recycle any previously issued cards. If you have not yet received the new version of the card, please call the Membership Hotline at 414-224-3284.

Q: What form of payment is accepted at the parking garages?

A: Credit or debit card.

Q: I previously purchased a five-punch Member parking card. Is it still valid?

A: Yes, but the plastic five-punch cards are not compatible with the new automated parking equipment. We ask that you exchange these at the Museum’s Admissions Desk by May 31, 2019, for an equal number of free parking validations that are compatible with our new equipment. We have discontinued the sale of these five-punch cards now that all Members automatically receive a discount through their cards.

Q: I previously received paper parking passes as part of my membership benefits. Are they still valid?

A: Yes, but the paper passes are not compatible with the new automated parking equipment. We ask that you exchange these at the Museum’s Admissions Desk by May 31, 2019, for an equal number of free parking validations that are compatible with our new equipment.

Q: I give at a level that includes free parking for a set number of visits. How long are those passes valid for?

A: You can use your free parking benefit while your membership is current. When you renew each year, you will receive the same total number of free parking passes on your membership card. Please note that the number of free parking passes loaded on your card will not carry over year to year.
