{"id":5382,"date":"2021-12-22T11:59:52","date_gmt":"2021-12-22T17:59:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mam.org\/info\/pressroom\/?p=5382"},"modified":"2022-07-20T09:26:25","modified_gmt":"2022-07-20T14:26:25","slug":"milwaukee-art-museum-and-iamaw-united-lodge-66-agree-on-first-union-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mam.org\/info\/pressroom\/2021\/12\/milwaukee-art-museum-and-iamaw-united-lodge-66-agree-on-first-union-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Milwaukee Art Museum and IAMAW United Lodge 66 Agree on First Union Contract"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>The three-year contract was ratified by a vote of unionized staff on December 22.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Milwaukee, Wis. \u2013&nbsp;December&nbsp;22, 2022 \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;The first contract agreement between the&nbsp;<strong>Milwaukee Art Museum<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW)<\/strong>&nbsp;was ratified by a vote of unionized staff on Tuesday, December&nbsp;22,&nbsp;2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Museum staff and representatives of the union met 30 times over the course of&nbsp;12&nbsp;months and discussed&nbsp;a wide range of&nbsp;topics&nbsp;and opportunities to&nbsp;further&nbsp;support the unionized staff of the Museum.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis agreement is the result of constructive negotiations and good faith on both sides and we are excited by the ways these changes will support the work of our talented&nbsp;employees,\u201d said&nbsp;<strong>Marcelle&nbsp;Polednik<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Donna and Donald Baumgartner Director, Milwaukee Art Museum<\/strong>. \u201cThe well-being and effectiveness of our staff is essential to&nbsp;advancing&nbsp;the mission and impact&nbsp;we make in&nbsp;the lives of our community here in Milwaukee.
