Awe-inspiring views of the \u00a0American landscape\u00a0<\/i>debut Feb. \u00a026<\/span><\/span> in\u00a0<\/i>Nature and the American Vision<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0Milwaukee, Wis.\u2014<\/b>February at the \u00a0Milwaukee Art Museum is a month of \u00a0adventure and discovery, with art and \u00a0programs featuring the American wilderness, the Haitian tropics, and \u00a0rare treasures in a new interactive \u00a0gallery.<\/div>\n
\n

In Nature and the American Vision: The Hudson River School<\/a>, <\/i>opening Feb. 26<\/span><\/span>, the greatest American paintings of the 19th century make their Milwaukee debut. This landmark special exhibition features sweeping, epic landscapes of the America\u2019s iconic natural wonders, and tells the stories of the people and places that shaped the nation.<\/p>\n

February is Black History Month, and families are invited to explore the sights, sounds and voices of Haiti in the new Kohl\u2019s Art Generation Lab: Haitian Art, which\u00a0holds one of the most important collections of Haitian art since the massive earthquake that struck the area in 2010. Kids can create their own Haitian-inspired artwork in the Kohl\u2019s Art Generation Studio<\/a>, and on Saturdays, enjoy performances<\/a> by community-based storyteller Carmen Quinlivan (Feb. 6<\/span><\/span>), musicians Jahmes Findlayson & Dumah Saafir (Feb. 13<\/span><\/span>), the dancers of Ko-thi Dance Company (Feb. 20<\/span><\/span>) and festival music with Emily Laxner, Kantara Souffant and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music (Feb. 27<\/span><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Opening Feb. 20<\/span><\/span>, The Collaboratory<\/i> is a new and unique interactive gallery space co-created with local teen leaders in the Museum\u2019s teen programs. This unexpected treasure trove of arms and armor and precious objects from around the world connects past and present in the Richard and Susan Pieper Family Education Gallery.<\/p>\n

The Museum is also the perfect place to celebrate Valentine\u2019s Day.\u00a0The award-winning culinary team will host an intimate multi-course Valentine Dinner<\/a> in Windhover Hall onSaturday, Feb. 13<\/span><\/span>, while the Museum Store offers thoughtful and exquisitely-crafted gifts designed to make an impression, for him<\/a> or for her<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Visitors can enjoy half-off admission every Saturday in February by presenting a receipt from Sendik\u2019s Food Market. Kids 12 and under are always free.<\/p>\n

Get a dose of daily cute with Play Date with Art: The Color of \u00a0Love<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a toddler takeover during this monthly program for the Museum\u2019s youngest visitors. Kids ages five and under sing along, play together, and make art in Windhover Hall.<\/p>\n

Experience a dance club sensation at\u00a0MAM After Dark: Quiet \u00a0Clubbing<\/a><\/b><\/div>\n
