Join the Milwaukee Art Museum\u2019s African American Art Alliance for an evening celebrating the work and impact of acclaimed artist Willie Cole, whose art\u2014represented in the Museum\u2019s collection\u2014continues to shape contemporary art and affirm that Black Art Matters now more than ever. Best known for transforming everyday found objects into powerful works of art rooted in African imagery and cultural reference, Cole\u2019s work invites reflection, dialogue, and connection.<\/p>\n

Following the Artist Talk<\/a>, enjoy an intimate three-course dinner with the artist at communal tables, as we break bread together in celebration of art and community, and Cole\u2019s lasting contributions. The night also marks the reinstallation of Cole\u2019s work, Domestic Dancers<\/em>, in the galleries, hung in proximity to Together<\/em> by past Alliance honoree and Milwaukee-based collage artist Della Wells, who will be in attendance.<\/p>\n
