What do you collect? Records, shoes, art, patches? Inspired by the exhibitions Portrait of Milwaukee and A Modern Vision, the Museum’s high school interns invite you to share and celebrate your unique collections.
Come to the Museum for a night of art, creativity, and community. Add your collection to our collection (a giant, painted mural!), create a collection of DIY buttons, and design your own fashion line to show-off on the runway. Take a renegade tour through the galleries led by Satellite Teen Interns, and see The Portrait Project exhibition #SeeMeBecause. Plus, enjoy free snacks and refreshments and special discounts on Student memberships.
Milwaukee teen internships are supported by the MPS Partnership for the Arts and Humanities, Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts, Harley-Davidson Foundation, and Greater Milwaukee Foundation. For more information about the Museum’s internships, visit mam.org/teens.
Inspired by feature exhibitions, visiting artists, and behind-the-scenes tours, MAM Satellite Interns learned how artwork moves from an artist’s studio to a gallery, how to draw and paint from the figure, and how artists define their market, merging passion, and practicality to define their career. Teens learned to develop tours of exhibitions, plan art events, and discover a breadth of opportunities to put their creativity to work.
Admission and activities are FREE for teens and families.
