Be among the first to explore The Ashcan School and The Eight: “Creating a National Art.”

Recognized as America’s first modern art movement, the Ashcan School and The Eight boldly rejected what traditional art institutions considered appropriate and captured everyday life in early 20th-century America in a loose painterly style.

After viewing the exhibition, stay for the Members-only Opening Lecture presented by Brandon Ruud, the exhibition curator and former Abert Family Curator of American Art.
