Welcome to a special online version of our popular family event: Kohl’s Family Sundays. Today we will be celebrating art and making creative gifts for family and friends. Create a collage, a storybook, or snowflakes to fill a room. Sing along with special guest Kai Simone, and make a winter treat with the Museum’s executive chef. Join the education team for an array of projects, perfect for gift giving.
Landscape Collage
Emily shares how to make a unique miniature scene.
Materials: pictures from old magazines; a small box, like a jewelry box; scissors, glue stick Optional: string or hanger
Mini Storybooks
Dianne shows how to turn a single sheet of paper into a multipage book, and then how to fill it with drawings.
Materials: sheet of copy or other thin paper; scissors; drawing materials like pencil and eraser, colored pencils, or markers
So Many Snowflakes!
Sarah teaches how to cut paper snowflakes, and then how to use them to make a monoprint.
Materials: square paper in various sizes, pencil, scissors, cookie sheet, waxed paper, blue and white tempera or poster paint, brush or sponge, rectangular paper

Make a Winter Treat
Learn to make a pretzel snowman (or a whole snow family!) with Jamie Nelson, the Museum’s executive chef.
Materials: ring and stick pretzels, white chocolate chips or white candy melts, fruit leather, mini chocolate chips, chocolate-covered sunflower seeds, cookie sheet, waxed or parchment paper, teaspoon, pizza cutter, powdered sugar, shaker or small sieve
