Milwaukee Art Museum Hosts COLLEGE Art After 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Milwaukee, WI, February 22, 2008-The Milwaukee Art Museum will host the inaugural college edition of <strong>Art After Five<\/strong> on Thursday, April 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. <!--more-->Conceived by college students for the slender wallets, ravenous appetites, and intellectual curiosity of Milwaukee&#8217;s student body, this event offers students an inspiring break from their studies amidst the acclaimed architecture, renowned art, and engaging atmosphere of the Museum.<\/p>\n<p>This college edition of Art After Five also offers the exclusive opportunity for student photographers to submit their work in conjunction with the Museum&#8217;s feature exhibition, <em>Foto: Modernity in Central Europe, 1918-1945<\/em>. The selected images will be displayed in the Museum&#8217;s breathtaking Calatrava-designed Windhover Hall, and three photographers selected by Lisa Hostetler, associate curator of photographs, will receive a special gift. For details, rules, and submission guidelines, click on Lectures + Events at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/mam.org\/foto\" title=\"mam.org\/foto\">mam.org\/foto<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The budget-friendly evening will include dinero-free delectables courtesy of <strong>Whole Foods<\/strong>; slammin&#8217; jams provided by <strong>88.9 Radio Milwaukee<\/strong>; free creation studios with your favorite nostalgic pastime, <strong>Lite-Brite<\/strong>; a refreshing cash bar; and guided tours given for students, by students. Visitors inspired by <em>Foto: Modernity in Central Europe, 1918-1945<\/em> can take a quick snapshot in our &#8220;Foto&#8221; booth for a keepsake of the night. Lucky guests will also take home door prizes donated by the Milwaukee Admirals, Oriental Theatre, The Cheesecake Factory, Milwaukee Public Museum, Beans &amp; Barley, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Sobelmans, and more.\u00a0 <strong>The party in Windhover Hall is free!<\/strong> General admission to the galleries is just $4 for students.<\/p>\n<p><em>Art After Five<\/em> occurs every Thursday evening, sponsored by the <em>Shepherd Express<\/em>. Rally your fellow students and kick off your Thursday night with a little culture, cuisine, and refreshments, all while enjoying the camaraderie of friends and experiencing the ambiance of the Milwaukee Art Museum.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for Thursdays when the Museum stays open until 8 p.m. (supported by Greater Milwaukee Foundation).
