The Milwaukee Art Museum and Crate and Barrel Partner for the Arts

Milwaukee, WI, August 15, 2005— The first Crate and Barrel store in Wisconsin is opening its doors on Wednesday, August 31 and the Milwaukee Art Museum was selected for their private benefit preview party at the new store at Mayfair Mall.

“This is an exciting opportunity to show Milwaukee our passion for high quality design in cooperation with an institution of world class art. There couldn’t be a better partnership,” says Gordon Segal, founder and CEO of Crate and Barrel. “Events like this allow us to connect with an essential part of the city and help support an organization that values community enrichment in terms of culture and quality of life.”

The private shopping event is Tuesday, August 30, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests will have an opportunity to view the store before the general public and make purchases that, in part, help support the Milwaukee Art Museum while they e njoy music, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Valet parking is complimentary.

A percentage of the proceeds of sales between August 30 and September 11 will be donated to the Milwaukee Art Museum. Customers can help support MAM through both in-store and online sales via a special link on the MAM Web site, www.mam.org.
