Performance: Present Music “Ablaze”

Experience the Present Music premiere of a new work by British composer Daniel Kidane in a program that explores themes of identity. For his music, Kidane draws on his Eritrean and Russian heritage, as well as his eclectic London upbringing. His new work features the multimedia No-No Boy project of Vietnamese American artist Julian Saporiti, which blends folk storytelling and archival imagery to relate the history of Japanese internment camps in WWII America and Vietnamese experiences of the Vietnam War. Presented in partnership with the Jewish Museum Milwaukee. On-site (in Windhover Hall) and livestreamed. Event tickets required.

This performance is presented in conjunction with the exhibition An-My Lê: On Contested Terrain. Visitors are encouraged to visit the exhibition before the concert.
