Hear from local black male leaders and artist Chris Johnson, as they discuss intergenerational communication and the holistic development of black men and boys relative to education, work, family, and community. The roundtable panel includes James Causey, Tyrone Dumas, Ald. Willie Hines, Mike Jackson, Christopher McIntyre, Kwame Nsoroma, and Eric Von.
This roundtable is being presented during the Museum's Free Community Weekend, and in conjunction with the 30 Americans exhibition. The five-channel video installation (and 2012 Sundance Film Festival Official Selection) Question Bridge: Black Males, which inspired the roundtable, is on view in the Museum's Contemporary Galleries through September 8. The artists Chris Johnson and Hank Willis Thomas worked with 150 black men from across the country throughout the project, in an effort to represent and redefine black male identity in America.
