Saturdays and Sundays, 10 AM–4 PM
First Friday of the month, 10 AM–7 PM
Stop in the studio to create art inspired by the artwork in the Museum. A different collection or exhibition is featured each month, and the activities are always changing!
April: Wild Things!
Recreate a painting in Nature and the American Vision: The Hudson River School and get closer to nature, as you sculpt your own mountain peaks and carve out your own ocean waves in clay and wood. And, celebrate Earth Day by creating landscapes from biodegradable and recycled materials.
May: Junkyard Genius
Sculpt with recycled tires, build wire creatures from driftwood, and construct weathervanes from secondhand metal. The Kohl’s Art Generation Gallery: Rubbish! and the works in the Lanford Wilson Collection of Folk Art provide lots of examples of how artists use imagination to turn most any materials into art. And, celebrate Mother’s Day together in the studio, inventing a game and building a playing board using found materials.
