MAM After Dark lights up Milwaukee for a special Gallery Night edition on Friday, January 16, from 5 p.m. to midnight. Get out of the cold and get into the art happening that lets you cast yourself in a whole new light!
Are you looking for the main event on gallery night? Look no further than local break-dancing crews representing in Windhover Hall from 9-11 p.m. Fine art meets the street. Finally!
Need some inspiration for your next tattoo? See the best that nature has to offer on a gallery tour of Catesby, Audubon, and the Discovery of a New World with curator Mary Weaver Chapin at 6 p.m. True American splendor.
Subdued by sunlight deprivation? Sensory Overload will constrict your pupils, along with an entire floor of the Museum’s brilliant Collection lighting up the night. On view until 9 p.m.
Still not satisfied? Once you’ve traveled the galleries, give your taste buds a tour of their own with a free beer tasting from 7-9 p.m. Grab a punch card and get to know all 14 different local, imported, and craft brews. And Café Calatrava will delight you with delicious appetizers on the house starting at 6 p.m., alongside a cash bar open all night.
The rest is up to you: make your own creation at our expanded DIY Studio from 5-10 p.m.! Show off your creativity, and learn new printmaking techniques for making your masterpiece from 5-10 p.m. Led by the lovely Sarah Pelsoh and Vanessa Andrews.
Before it’s all over, make history. Come prepared for your close-up at MAM After Dark’s very own photo booth from 7-11 p.m. You’ll see all the shots on the walls of Windhover Hall as Tarik Moody of 88Nine Radio Milwaukee keeps the party jumping with incredible tunes.
